Sébastien Genesca, Managing Director of Logica Luxembourg S.A lives his life according to a personal doctrine passed down to him from his first mentor: “In life, we make our own luck”.
Luxembourg - love at first sight
Originally from the South of France, Sébastien Genesca discovered Luxembourg in 1999 during a traineeship to validate a Master’s Degree in International Commerce with the company Ariane II. With his Post-graduate Degree in Information and Communication completed, he joined the company at the end of his traineeship as an account manager for three years, followed by four years as branch manager in charge of system integration activities within the local private sector. A first step on the career ladder that served to confirm Sébastien’s attachment to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg: “an economic platform that motivates you to do business”. Won over by the proactive attitude and the perpetual self-assessment of this market, he continued to carve out a place for himself...An Innovation champion ...
In September 2007, he took over as head of Logica Luxembourg S.A.. Why? He was won over by the company’s capacity to commit to projects and by the quality of its teams. An engineering company that awards great importance to the roles and responsibilities of each, a PSF since 2008, it provides services to banks, insurance companies but also to State and European institutions. With a clear philosophy: satisfying its clients and engineers via a value system based on confidence and straightforward human relations. For Sébastien preconceptions and conformism are there to be challenged, which is why he is a firm believer in innovation in IT, quoting Edwin Herbert Land: “Innovation does not mean having a new idea but no longer having an old one”....with a heart of gold
However, Sébastien follows a personal quest for balance, underpinned by the values of honesty, loyalty and fairness. While typing away on his Mac keyboard, this avid reader feels the makings of a writer stirring inside him. Business memoirs? He has too many to pinpoint one in particular. His biggest pride? His children. Spending time with his family or friends, cooking, discovering new restaurants and strolling close to the waterfront are his favourite pleasures. Altruistic and a member of a service club, Sébastien also does his bit for charity. Loyal, he loves coming back to his childhood haunts: the Languedoc hinterland. Guided by his principles, Sébastien is making his way in the world, making choices according to his own personal benchmark.
